-omake arcade- digital download, now available! And now on Twitter!

You heard me! The Zenpop store is now up and running again, with it's newest addition Space Officer Triggs -omake arcarde- now available for only £1. It comes in a .PDF format which makes it so cheap, and plus, it's good for the environment (seeing as Earth Day just passed).

So head on over and grab a copy! Zenpop Issues 1 and 2 are available in this format too!

ALSO! Triggs now has his own Twitter. You can follow this blog's updates there, along with other odd bits of news perhaps too small to feature on the blog, and even tweets from Triggs himself.

We Be Zoomin': analysis

So last night, I quite literately dropped a bombshell, with this:

A new comic? Yes. Longer than the others I've done to date? Totally.
But this was to happen at the worst possible time, so I'm afraid I dunno when the next page could come.

Well, here's the thing...
The story came to me on a whim, a spur of the moment, something short I could work with and something fun. But when I was actually arranging the panels and fixing the line art last night, for some flippin' reason I was bonkers enough to go all out with something small that I could've actually finished in a week. Well that hope of simplicity seems all lost now.

Then I thought: how some comics have one detailed page at the beginning and the rest are flat? But I'm now uber pleased with the first page that I want to continue with those colours and textures, even though I'd never thought I'd have the dexterity and patience to carry on doing that for every page I hope to produce in the future.

In short, I need to get my priorities sorted. XD

Encounters from beyond

I will confess, aliens leave me bewildered. It's as if all the good designs have been taken and anything I try and attempt to design I am hesitant. I either think I'll create something overly complicated or something too simple that it's boring.

It's a conundrum.

I've even been looking at everyday household objects to find interesting shapes to model aliens on.
This for example is based on our Sky remote control. It's a working design for a 'space elf'.

Another thing I find myself doing is giving my aliens a chicken like body. :I Yeah, like that'll go down well.

"AH! A BIG SCARY... oh sh*t it's just a weird looking chicken. Oddly similar to the last one you just blew up."

Anyways, I guess the only remedy IS just to keep looking around for unusual shaped objects and different animals other than chickens...

Ah. This looks a bit better. Alright, not the most original looking alien in the world, yes, I'll work on that. But I wanted to visualize a confrontation. Or the cause. Whatever, there'll be a little rough housing with a 7 foot alien. What am I on about? There'll be a lot a rough housing with aliens of all sorts every now and again. Of course. And maybe the odd few chickens if we're lucky.

I'm sorry, I'm under the influence of a cold right now and I can't stop thinking about chickens, what is wrong with me?

Mother's Day

OK, so it's a little off-beat. But it's indirectly related. After all, if it wasn't for Jack, no Space Officer Triggs. :B
So I painting I did for Mother's Day tomorrow. We got Jack on a Mother's Day in 2008 which was the 2nd of March, so that's technically his birthday, but we dediced to make him a Mother's Day dog, so his birth date changes every year! I suppose it's kinda fun that way.

We got him doggy chocolates. And maybe we'll pick up a bit of doggy beer tomorrow if we can.

Here's the reference photo I used. It was taken just the Christmas gone.

OK, so I like to put ribbons in my male dog's hair.

Happy Mother's Day! (for tomorrow!) XD
